Help with Voread.

A quick guide to reading and reviewing your words.

This guide covers the Windows x64 beta. Download Voread, then sign in inside the app. See trial and subscription allowances.

Install and sign in

Download the Windows x64 installer from the official download page. Open Voread, enter your email, then enter the eight-digit code sent to that address. The app checks your account before starting reading, dictation or screen capture. Sign-in and continued access need an internet connection. This beta has no verified Windows publisher signature; contact support if you cannot verify the installer source.

On Home, choose your reading language and voice. In Settings, choose the recognition language and microphone for dictation. Use Save & restart where shown, then wait for the voice engine to be ready. Start with a short passage you can check.

Read selected text

Select a passage in a supported app, then press F5. If the app cannot provide the selection, try a small screen crop instead.

These are the default shortcuts. Home’s Keyboard shortcuts guide shows the bindings currently applied. Word focus depends on available text positions and speech timing.

Read a screen area

Press Ctrl + Alt + X once and release the keys. Drag with the left mouse button around the text, then release the mouse to use that crop. Press Esc or right-click to cancel.

Choose a small, clear passage. Windows recognizes the crop locally; reading it aloud uses an online service. If no text is found, try a tighter crop or clearer text. Handwriting and mixed scripts can be unreliable.

Dictate, review, then choose a destination

Hold F9 while speaking and release it to finish a locally saved draft. Keep each hold under two minutes. Press Shift + F8 to review, edit, read back or copy it. Saved drafts are also available in Drafts.

Check names, numbers and wording before using the text. Before insertion, check the destination app and field. Voread checks whether insertion is available, but cannot guarantee the original cursor position. If the target is unclear or insertion is unavailable, copy and paste into a field you have checked. Dictation does not send a message for you.

Voices and OCR languages are separate

Reading voices are available for English, Hebrew and Arabic. Dictation uses its own recognition-language setting. Quality varies with language, accent, microphone and source text; review the result.

Screen crops depend on Windows OCR recognizers installed on your computer. Selecting a voice does not install an OCR language. Home’s keyboard guide explains that OCR support is checked when you capture a screen area.

If a recognizer is missing, use Windows Settings → Time & language → Language & region to add the language and its available features, then reopen Voread and try a small, clear crop in the chosen reading language. See Microsoft’s language-pack instructions. A display language alone does not confirm OCR availability; Microsoft explains the distinction.

Check usage or recover from an interruption

Home → Usage shows reading and dictation allowances separately, with the trial end or paid-period reset date. Choose Refresh usage for an update. Offline or stale figures are last-known values.

Voice previews, draft readback and re-reading use reading allowance. Active work may appear reserved; interrupted sessions may retain a conservative reservation. See the counting terms. Local OCR does not make reading aloud or dictation work offline.

Account, cancellation and support

Voread requires its own verified account; Darvy access does not unlock it. Your two computers share one allowance. In the app’s account screen, release a computer you no longer use to free its slot. Signing in again or reinstalling does not restart your trial.

Cancel future renewals through the billing portal linked from your account or email support. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription. See cancellation details and the 14-day money-back guarantee.
